Install Inbox Translate in Outlook

Takes under a minute. You add Inbox Translate once and it appears in every Outlook you sign in to with the same account.

You'll need this add-in URL:

https://app.inboxtranslate.com/manifest.xml

Outlook on the web & the new Outlook for Windows

  1. Open aka.ms/olksideload. It opens Outlook with the add-ins dialog. Or, from any email, click Apps (or …) → Get Add-ins.
  2. Go to My add-ins.
  3. Under Custom add-ins, click Add a custom add-in → Add from URL.
  4. Paste the URL above and click OK, then Install.

Classic Outlook for Windows & Outlook for Mac

  1. On the Home tab, click Get Add-ins (on Mac: … → Get Add-ins).
  2. Follow steps 2–4 above. If you don't see Add from URL, use Outlook on the web once. The add-in syncs to your desktop Outlook automatically.

Using it

Open any email and click Inbox Translate in the ribbon (or under Apps). Sign in with your Microsoft account the first time. When you're writing a reply, use Reply in language. The first translation downloads the on-device model (about 40 seconds, only once). After that it works offline and your email never leaves your computer.

Installing for a whole company?

A Microsoft 365 admin can push it to everyone at once with no action needed from users. See Deploy to your organization.

Trouble?

If Custom add-ins is missing, your IT department may have disabled it. Ask them to deploy it for you. Otherwise email support@inboxtranslate.com.
